If it is Nero, Roxio .anything but ImgBurn , that may very well be the source of all your troubles. When we said only use ImgBurn and only burn on Verbatim discs, we were not just giving random opinions. It is based on the experiences of countless us ...Feed Source: www.videohelp.com Apple's new MacBooks have built-in copy protection - Sucks for the idiots that buy macbooks and stuff from itunes
I'll never do either so i'm good for now 8)
Apple's new MacBook lines include a form of digital copy protection that will prevent protected media, such as DRM-infused iTunes movies, from playing back on devices that aren't compliant with the new priority protection measu ... vhs tape wont play picture - Number Six eliminated the LP speed theory, so we are indeed looking at either head clog, tape drag, or even an early form of copy protection. If even one of the video heads on that spinning drum is clogged, you'd have the symptoms you described. As far as the control track head, that too is very much a possibility. There is also the possibility ... 1.85 AR movies question... - If you wanted anamorphic encoding, assuming your source is indeed 1920x1080, no borders (and it wasn't some display setting or filtering effect), and that you just wanted to "fix" the aspect ratio to what you think looks to be correct
Display Aspect Ratio = Frame Aspect Ratio x Pixel Aspect Ratio
DAR = FAR x PAR
(Again the "PAR" is equivale ... Out-of-sync MOV File - MOV files from a camera? then try mp4cam2avi and convert to avi.

I have no idea - but most things that just say "PAL" mean PAL-BDGI, not M. Read the specs carefully.
Cheers,
David.... Best Quality: Hi8 to DVD Recorder OR to Pass through to computer ? - The answer depends on other factors, such as errors present on the source tapes, or the quality of the digital acquisition devices. It's not as easy an answer as the ones that have been given.
DV can be better here, for this exact situation, but not necessarily. Missing a lot of details.... Blockiness in a running water scene - Very good idea indeed. Thank you !... Freeview Box - File extension - Hi
Ive had a quick look but cant really find anything relevant
I want to change the drive in my freeview box but I want to backup the saved content on my pc, or drop on to a disk.
Are the saved tv shows likely to be saved in a recognisable format via windows/linux, eg mpg or avi?
are there any applications to recover media straight f ... Any long term issues with playing dvds on a side-mounted desktop tower? - Just make sure you don't kick or knock the unit when the disc is spinning, which could knock the disc off the spindle. It will make one hell of a noise as the disc bounces around.
I have an external DVD drive and very little space on my cluttered desk so I wedge in the drive wherever I can, sometimes vertical, sometimes horizontal. On occasion ... [Release] Philips 5990 European modded firmware by vb6 - My player 5990/12 is dead
Could you someone send me serial flash?
Thank you... Typical lifespan for a stand-alone DVD recorder. - All for the reason to keep the current DVDRs "cheap" :x
For the most part people get what they want. Since so many people want the $99 specials that's what the mgfs. make. Back when DVDRs cost >$400 mfgs. could afford to put some quality into their products, at $99 every penny counts so if they can save 1/2 cent by using a cheaper capacitor ... Question about "DMA is not Enabled" warning message on DVDFab Pla - Yes, I believe this happened after I tried to copy a DVD that had 10 minutes missing (and caused freezing in playback on all players). It took DVDFab Platinum about 30 minutes (unusually long) to copy the disk to the hard drive. The result still froze, so I managed to use TMPGEnc DVD Author3 to edit out the bad part and then the resulting DVD p ... Philips 3575/3576 and Magnavox H2160 Features, Setup and Operation - Thanks to AVS member sydyen for info on another great feature of the Mag H2160 compared to the 3575/3576:
Pressing STOP multiple times on the remote does NOT stop playback and recording.

OS X 10.5.5, QT 7.55, Perian 1.1.2, and plays fine.... Creating MiniDVD - I think 4000 for bitrate is too optimistic a number (after testing something like that on my player). Most players will hiccup at bitrates more than SVCD's (2600). But will work without a problem with 'audio+stills' (up to LPCM 24bit/48kHz) mini-DVDs. Of course, a special mode is needed for burning DVD-video on CDR, since ifo files contain pointers ... Upscale or converter to VGA/DVI? - I'm surprised a device that claims to capture uncompressed video does so badly. The samples you posted are full of DCT compression artifacts (although they could be the result of the JPG compression you used for posting). Full D1 video is really pushing the limits of USB 2.0. I suspect it may do some kind of DCT compression for the USB transfer ... When long time GMs run long term campaigns for the same group, it?s easy to lose sight of the fact that what really matters is the building blocks of good story telling.

Giving In To, Then Defeating, Player's Expectations - My name is Joanna Winters; this is the first of a number of articles that will take my real-life experiences and tweak them for your tabletop sessions. Don't think, however, that I've led some illustrious career, some monumental history that sends me enduring the mounts of Everest. I don't work for Discovery or Natgeo: I merely find answers for what I and others find puzzling. Often times, these answers are far more mundane than their circumstanc... Choose Your Own Adventure - The ability of players to affect events in a game is one of the crucial components that makes an RPG what it is. It's also one of the aspects of GMing that's easiest to mess up. I'll talk about why player choice is so important in RPGs and offer a few suggestions for how to uphold it in your games.

Now, 8 years and change later, I thought I would post my impressions of D&D 4th Edition. These are not first impressions, however; these are based on my having played the game for several months now. They may very well incite a riot. Line forms on the right.

Hunter: The Vigil - In my previous article here at Gamegrene, I talked about my experiences with Hunter: The Reckoning, particularly in light of the fact that my unconditional love for H:tR was not shared by the vast majority of gamers. Though the publication of material for Reckoning ceased a number of years ago along with the rest of the old World of Darkness, I (and other Hunter fans) are fortunate in that the Hunter concept was chosen to be revised and republis... Let?s face it, it?s more fun if you?re not getting womped all the time and as we play across ages (generations in fact) in my game grou...
