The sixth UEFA European Futsal Championship in Hungary will take place from 18 to 30 January 2010 after being switched from its scheduled autumn slot.
Established forces Spain and MFK Dinamo Moskva were the big winners in futsal this year but the sport is undergoing big changes at many levels.
The UEFA Executive Committee has chosen Hungary as hosts of the next UEFA European Futsal Championship which will use venues in Budapest and Debrecen.
With finals having concluded on Sunday, uefa.com's reporting team in Portugal select the 12 players from the eight squads who shone during the event.
Italy 1-3 Spain
Spain captain Javi Rodríguez, goalscorer Marcelo and star man Álvaro reflect on their 3-1 final win against Italy, for who Adriano Foglia was philosophical.
Portugal player Joel Queirós described the hosts' fourth-place finish as a "failure" after narrowly missing out on first the final and then a medal.
Spain coach José Venancio, who only took over the job in September, paid tribute to his predecessor Javier Lozano after their final win against Italy in Porto.
Russia 3-2 Portugal
Serbia's Predrag Rajić, new Russia star Cirilo and Spain stalwart Daniel ended the 2007 UEFA European Futsal Championship finals as joint-top scorers.
